Since sports are a part of life but also allow individuals to feel happy, many sportive activities, individually or in groups, become a part of daily life. It is seen that the most known meaning of anxiety is "worry," and when the studies are examined, it is seen that it is called "anxiety." One of the causes of anxiety is known as the transformation of our inner and outer feelings and emotions into fear. This study aims to determine the anxiety levels of 3rd and 4th-grade students studying at Bayburt University in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year and who prefer university elective football. The study group consists of 180 students, 160 boys, and 20 girls. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of the anxiety scales used in this study was 0,820. When we examine the results of the T-test analysis performed to determine the differences in the "gender" and trait and state anxiety levels of the students participating in the study, it is seen that there are significant differences in the trait anxiety scale (p<0.05). At the same time, there are significant differences in the state anxiety scale (p<0.05) level, no significant differences were found. The results show that individuals do not try many sports branches, especially football, due to their prejudices, but after they try, they will often prefer sportive activities.
