Firefighting and Ways of Protection From Fires

Abstract

It is known that with the increasing world population, developing technology and industrial production increase the possibility of fires, and accordingly, loss of life and property occurs. The need for trained, equipped and experienced fire brigades is increasing in order to prevent increasing fire incidents and to minimize the loss of life and property that may arise as a result of these fires. In this context, people who will do the firefighting profession must have the necessary training and have sufficient equipment. Peoples engaged in the firefighting profession are always ready to work physically and mentally due to the negative situations they face and perform their profession under high heat, humidity, smoke, chemical gases and difficult conditions. This profession has been practiced since ancient times and it is known that it has taken different names from time to time. Firefighters play an important role in extinguishing fires and minimizing the loss of life and property. The aim of this study is to bring together the important data obtained by examining different studies on the firefighting profession and ways of protection from fires.
