Applications of Polymeric Membranes-A Brief Review

Abstract

This research highlights the growing interest in polymer inclusion membranes (PIM) as they are used in novel and novel applications. PIMs are polymer-supported liquid membranes and their first use was sensing membranes in ion-selective electrodes and optodes. Recently, it has become an alternative to separation processes and has also been incorporated into automated analysis systems. This review provides an overview of the applications of PIMs reported in the literature to date and demonstrates their versatility.
