Abstract

The formwork phase in the construction industry involves various and significant risks in terms of occupational health and safety. This study includes the identification of all sources of hazards that tunnel formwork and timber formwork teams may be exposed to in the field and the precautions to be taken in a large-scale housing construction site under construction. In large-scale housing projects, teams are required to work simultaneously and faster than usual in order to deliver the construction within the committed deadlines. This situation causes additional hazards in addition to the existing hazards. The hazards that the timber formwork and tunnel formwork teams may be exposed to during the process from the site set-up in the field area to the completion of the work were evaluated. It has been seen that hazardous situations in working at height and lifting operations in formwork systems are the leading hazards and the importance of occupational health and safety in all stages of
construction has been revealed.
