Abstract

In today's organizations, regardless of their profit motive, the importance of human behavior is becoming more and more aware with every day, and success-oriented organizations try to enable human resources to carry out their activities in the most effective and efficient way. It is known that the most important factor determining the level of success of educational institutions, that generally have similar physical conditions and institutional structures, are the teachers working in the institution. Therefore, the study aims to examine the effect of cynical attitudes of teachers on their organizational dissent behavior, who is working in educational institutions. In this context, with the data obtained from 454 teachers working in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education throughout the Black Sea region, it was tried to determine teachers' perceptions of cynicism and dissent behaviors and the relationship between them. In this cross-sectional study, Brandes et al. (1999) organizational cynicism scale and Kassing's (1998) organizational dissent scales were used. Validity and reliability tests were conducted for the variables and their sub-dimensions, and the relationships were tested. According to findings, it was found that there is a positive and significant relationship between the organizational cynicism behaviors of the teachers participating in the survey and their organizational dissent reflexes. Relationships between the sub-dimensions of the variables, which are considered to be useful for practice, have also been determined.
