Thermal Tourism Management in Kahramanmaras

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the current situation of thermal tourism management in Kahramanmaraş and to offer suggestions for the development of thermal tourism in this region. In this way, it is aimed to maximize the contribution of the city from thermal tourism. In this study, a literature review about the thermal tourism areas of the city was made. There are two thermal tourism destinations in Kahramanmaraş, Ilıca and Döngele. These destinations are suitable for the sustainability of thermal tourism. The thermal waters are of good quality, there is no transportation problem and the adequacy of the thermal tourism enterprises come to the fore. In addition to these, the same destinations also have some disadvantages. More traditionally managed businesses, lack of qualified personnel and inadequacy of marketing activities are some of them. This study focuses on thermal tourism management in Kahramanmaraş. In the literature, it has been observed that there is no similar study about the region before. For this reason, it is thought that this study is important in terms of contributing to the thermal tourism literature.
